Japan-America Society of Washington, D.C

National Park Service - National Mall & Memorial Parks
The famous trees, a gift from Japan in 1912, signal the coming of Spring with an explosion of life and color surrounding the Jefferson Memorial on the Tidal Basin as well as the peninsula known as East Potomac Park, both parts of the National Mall and Memorial Parks. Officially established in 1965, National Mall & Memorial Parks contains some of the oldest protected park lands in the National Park Service. The areas within National Mall & Memorial Parks provides visitors with ample opportunities to commemorate presidential legacies; honor the courage and sacrifice of war veterans; celebrate the United States commitment to freedom and equality.

Essex County Cherry Blossom Festival -- Essex County Branch Brook Park, Newark, NJ
A week-long festival showcasing the cherry blossom trees that were gifted to Essex County Branch Brook Park more than 80 years ago. Festivities include the Annual Cherry Blossom Gala, bicycle tour of the blossoms, speakers series and a family day featuring demonstrations on origami, bonsai, and martial arts.
