Parade Applications
 The National Cherry Blossom Festival welcomes
performing groups to apply for participation in the National
Cherry Blossom Festival Parade®. The
2010 Parade will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2010 in
Washington, D.C.
There are several opportunities to get involved with the
Parade. Please click on any of the names below for more

MARCHING BANDS
Marching Bands are a very integral part of any
successful parade. The pageantry, music selections, colors,
marching style, and auxiliary contributions help create a
stunning presentation. This appealing presentation adds an
unparalleled contribution to a parade. Bands from all over the
world are encouraged to apply, regardless of style (i.e. Dance,
Military, Drum Corps style, Traditional, Scottish, etc). Marching
bands must have a membership of 100+ students to be considered.
The 2010 Marching Band Application Period is now
closed.

SPECIALTY UNITS
Each year, the Parade Committee looks for diverse,
exciting, and colorful units. Entries should be mobile and able
to perform at a steady pace down the entire Parade route.
Further, animal units are required to provide adequate personnel
and equipment to clear any debris from the Parade route left by
the animals. The person(s) from your group responsible for this
task should march with your unit.
Specialty unit applications for the 2010 National
Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® are now available.
The application deadline is December 31, 2009. Applications
will be evaluated from July 17 – December 31, 2009,
applications will not be accepted after December 31, 2009.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so specialty

YOUTH CHOIR
The 2010 National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® is
getting ready for the 6th Annual Youth Choir performance and we
would like your choir to be part of the excitement. This is the
chance for your choir to perform with hundreds of vocalists in
front of the National Archives for the ABC 7 and News Channel 8
cameras, walk down Constitution Avenue singing and waving to the
crowd, and perform again near the White House!!!

ALL-STAR TAP TEAM
Get ready to put on your dancing feet! The 2010 National
Cherry Blossom Festival Parade® is accepting applications from
dancers and studios who wish to be a part of the 2010 All-Star
Tap Team. This is your chance to shuffle-ball-change in front of
the National Archives for ABC 7 and NewsChannel 8 cameras.
