National Cherry Blossom Festival Invites Guests to Celebrate Spring in Style at the Pink Tie Dinner Party Fundraiser

Tickets still on sale for annual party with a purpose

Washington, D.C. [APRIL 25, 2022] – The National Cherry Blossom Festival today announced that it will toast to the 2022 National Cherry Blossom Festival season and celebrate spring in style along with Festival family, friends, and guests during the Pink Tie Dinner Party this Thursday, April 28 at 6:30 p.m. The Pink Tie Party is returning to the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, with venue host, TCMA (A Drew Company). A small number of tickets are still available.

“We encourage attendees to don their finest pink, spring-inspired attire for an evening of dazzling entertainment, incredible cuisine, and joyful celebration,” said Diana Mayhew, president and CEO of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. “New this year, this annual fundraising event will take on a dinner party format — an exclusive twist on the fabulous and beloved celebration.”

In addition to festive entertainment, attendees will enjoy a welcome reception with a sushi and sake tasting. Participating restaurants at the welcome reception include Wren Tyson’s, Carmine’s, and Cranes DC.

The seated dinner will follow, with internationally inspired culinary delights crafted by TCMA Executive Chef Houman Gohary, curated cocktails by House of Suntory, and beverages throughout the evening via an exclusive XR Bar experience created by ARTECHOUSE DC.

Attendees can also support the mission of the Festival by participating in a silent auction, showcasing experiences and items from National Harbor Special Events and Amazon. This year highlights restaurants in National Landing, as part of over one hundred eateries that have donated dining experiences to the silent auction from across Washington, DC, and surrounding areas.

Entertainment throughout the evening is sponsored by BetMGM. Capping off a lineup of artists throughout the evening, Funsho will headline the dessert reception, a soul/pop singer from Prince George’s County, Maryland, by way of Lagos, Nigeria. Funsho first garnered national attention when he appeared on The Voice in 2018.

Restaurants participating in the dessert reception include Ted’s Bulletin/Sidekick Bakery, Here’s the Scoop Ice Cream, Ravenhook Bakery, Hiatus Cheesecake, and Georgetown Cupcake.

Special thanks to Design Foundry, Event EQ, and PROjection as well as beverage sponsors Kirin, LaCroix Sparkling Water, Old Ox Brewery, and the America Sake Association.

Attendees are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination to access the event. All proceeds from the event and silent auction will go to help keep most events by National Cherry Blossom Festival, a 501(c)3 organization, free and open to the public.

Additional support for the Pink Tie Dinner Party is provided by Amazon, ARTECHOUSE DC, Beam Suntory, BetMGM, Alto Experience, Inc, and Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Media partners include Washingtonian and the Washington Blade.
