SUMMARY:Rail Symposium 2026: Enhancing Economic Impact\, Innovation and the Customer Experience through Major Projects and Mega Events
DESCRIPTION:The United States is increasingly prioritizing the future of public transportation\, with significant momentum building toward modernizing the Northeast Corridor and deploying next-generation rolling stock. Simultaneously\, public transit enhancements are being fast-tracked ahead of major international sporting events\, while Congressional deliberations continue regarding the next surface transportation bill.\n\nJapan is likewise advancing initiatives to expand its rail networks and develop integrated urban hubs\, spurred by a drive for global competitiveness and the Osaka-Kansai Expo. Furthermore\, Japanese rail manufacturers have established a strong presence within the U.S. market\, bolstering American infrastructure and stimulating regional economic growth.\n\nAgainst this backdrop of accelerating investment and institutional progress\, the railway sector has emerged as a vital pillar for exchanging technical expertise and deepening bilateral relations between the two nations. This symposium will convene government officials and industry leaders from both Japan and the United States to explore the continued evolution of the rail industry. Discussions will focus on maximizing the economic returns of railway investments and leveraging large-scale events to drive systemic improvements\n\n \n\n \n\n 								\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Mobility Access \n \n \n \n This event is wheelchair-accessible. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Additional Accommodations \n \n \n \n This event is produced by Japan International Transport and Tourism Institute\, USA (JITTI) and American Public Transportation Association (APTA).
