FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

National Cherry Blossom Festival Encourages Support of D.C. Area Restaurants Through Cherry Picks and Cherry Night Programs

Over 100 Restaurants Participating in 20th Annual Program

Washington, D.C. [March 22, 2022] – The National Cherry Blossom Festival today announced that over 100 restaurants across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia are participating in its 20th annual Cherry Picks program. Presented in conjunction with the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington (RAMW), Cherry Picks showcases D.C.’s diverse dining scene and encourages local residents and visitors to support the region’s restaurants throughout the 2022 National Cherry Blossom Festival – March 20-April 17.

New this year, Cherry Night will connect Festival attendees with the region’s nightlife. An extension of Cherry Picks, this one-evening RSVP-only event will take place on March 31, 2022 and celebrates a select group of vibrant restaurants, bars, entertainment clubs, and lounges, some of whom are also part of the Cherry Picks program. Cherry Night venues will encourage patrons to dress in pink attire while enjoying one-night-only custom menu items, free live entertainment, and cherry blossom-themed experiences.

“Each spring, area restaurants celebrate the season’s arrival with the Festival through Cherry Picks and I’m so excited to introduce Cherry Night as another amazing way to celebrate this year,” said Diana Mayhew, president and CEO of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. “We are inviting the entire community to rediscover spring throughout the 2022 Festival and that includes trying a new restaurant or supporting some beloved favorites in a new way.”
