Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan Presents New Exhibition “Blossoming Flowers in Japanese Art and Poetry”
In partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival 2023
WASHINGTON DC — In a celebration of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, and the enduring Japan-US friendship, the Japan Information & Culture Center (JICC), Embassy of Japan presents, “Blossoming Flowers in Japanese Art and Poetry.”
This free exhibition will showcase paintings from the Embassy’s private collection alongside the haiku and visual art of students from over 10 different schools throughout the DC metropolitan area. Inspired by the symbolism of flowers in Japanese art and poetry, students let their creativity “bloom” in this unique collaboration.
Come and see how flowers are used to appreciate life’s precious moments through the creations of masters and novices alike. The JICC is pleased to have this opportunity to reconnect with the community and to continue to be an outlet for grassroots Japan-US connections.
This exhibition will begin on March 17th and run through May 5th, Monday through Friday on adjusted hours of 10 am – 4:30 pm.
“We are honored and excited to be able to continue to partner with the National Cherry Blossom Festival and local schools throughout the area to continue to strengthen our Japan-US friendship,” remarked Deputy Director for the JICC, KOIKE Megumi.
