Be a part of this highly-regarded Signature Program!
Each year, the National Cherry Blossom Festival picks a group of awesome college-aged adults for its renowned Goodwill Ambassador Program.
If you’re passionate about international relations and community engagement and love the Festival vibe, this is your chance to get involved in a special way! The selected crew is made up of talented and energetic folks who make a difference in fostering US–Japan relations.
The Goodwill Ambassador Experience
Becoming a Goodwill Ambassador is an incredible opportunity that will boost your resume and give you invaluable life experience. You’ll make a real impact on DC residents in classrooms and senior centers, connect with Festival-goers at major events, and speak to crowds about the importance of the Festival and its celebration of the beautiful gift of trees. This is your chance to develop leadership skills and create lasting connections.
The Festival’s official Goodwill Ambassadors are actively engaged with the Festival by:
Acting as “cultural delegates” in propelling awareness of the Festival’s roots through attendance at Festival events and cultural exchange programs;
Representing the Festival at events, including tree plantings, and community events affiliated with the National Cherry Blossom Festival or the Japanese/Japanese-American community; and
Acting as cultural and educational liaisons at DC-area schools to teach children about the history of the gift of trees and the Japanese language and culture.
