This Cherry Blossom season, Adams Morgan invites local businesses to bring spring to life through a neighborhood-wide celebration. Through a storefront decorating contest, restaurants, retailers, and community spaces will design imaginative cherry blossom–inspired displays that will turn Adams Morgan into a walkable exhibition.
This neighborhood-wide installation transforms the storefronts into a vibrant Cherry Blossom photo activation with cascading pink florals framing entrances throughout Adams Morgan.
In Navy Yard, a hidden alley turns into a pink, cherry blossom filled walkway with flowers hanging overhead and cozy handmade details everywhere. Neighbors help decorate and welcome visitors, giving it a fun, feel-good vibe. During Cherry Blossom Weekend, it’s the perfect spot for photos, spring strolls, and soaking up the community energy.

The Anacostia BID Blossom Block transforms one block in the Bridge District in Anacostia into an immersive, week-long cherry blossom–inspired cultural hub. The initiative blends Japanese heritage, local DC creativity, food, drink, art, and wellness. There will be experiences such as tea-blending, candle-making, sake tasting, and live concerts.
The block will be fully decorated with blossom-inspired installations, lanterns, and interactive elements, serving as a walkable destination throughout the festival week.

In Tenleytown, the hunt is on(line)! Over the two weeks of the Cherry Blossom Passport Challenge, participants will use the online app Eventzee to go into selected restaurants and stores with connections to Japanese culture to earn prizes.
The Instagrammable art installation is the community art project that Tenleytown completed at The Tile Shop during Art All Night. This is an anchor art installation in Tenleytown that is new and a great visual for the area.

This spring, Anthem Row will transform into Blossom Plaza, celebrating the National Cherry Blossom Festival season with immersive art and vibrant design. The plaza will feature two major art installations — Cherry Blossom Daruma, a striking aerial sculpture by MyLy Design, and The Blossom Car by Chris Pyrate, a reimagined SmartCar transformed into a large-scale blossom artwork.
Visitors can stroll along a walkway lined with Chris Pyrate’s signature blossom illustrations on the plaza’s east side, while The Westin Washington, DC Downtown will illuminate its exterior in pink to complement the experience. Throughout the plaza, MyLy Design’s smaller cherry blossom sculptures will accent tree boxes, tying the installation together with vivid seasonal color.
On March 28, the plaza will come to life with a live painting event, where six local muralists will create six 4’ x 8’ cherry blossom–inspired panels in real time. This celebration will serve as the festive kickoff to Anthem Row’s Cherry Blossom activation, inviting the community to welcome spring through art, color, and collaboration.
At Sycamore and Oak, there will be a day of celebration, utilizing the community creating activations such as FLEA DC “vendor market,” live entertainment, food and beverage.
Check out the 12-foot Chris Pyrate x Cherry Blossom Dragon as well as the Cherry Blossom 8-foot tall Basket Ball display, also partnership with Chris Pyrate. Walk along the storefronts to see the story line on the windows along the site with the blossom stickers.
