An exhibition of 250 drawings and haiku composed by elementary school students in Japan and Washington D.C. on the theme of sakura to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence and the gift of 250 cherry blossom trees from Japan to the United States in 2026. The exhibition is the culmination of an exchange project organized by the Embassy of Japan to foster international friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural appreciation between elementary school students in the U.S. and Japan. Visitors will be able to enjoy the students’ artwork and share in the hope for a bright future that they embody.
