We at the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Inc. value your privacy. When you visit our website dedicated to the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival (“Festival”), www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org (“Website”), you may provide to us certain information about you in order to get information from us, to purchase Festival tickets or merchandise, to donate to us or to volunteer your time to us. This Privacy Policy details the information that we collect, and how we store, use and destroy that information.

By using our Website, you agree to this Privacy Policy. From time to time, we may change the Website or this Privacy Policy without notice to you. Changes will become effective when we post them to the Website. We will treat your use of the Website after each revised Privacy Policy is published as your acceptance of that revised Privacy Policy

The Payment Processor may provide us with the last four digits and expiration date of your credit card in order for us to identify you and your order should a refund become necessary, but the Payment Processor will not otherwise provide us with your Payment Information.  Purchasing Festival merchandise

 You may buy certain Festival merchandise online when ordering Festival tickets or by visiting our online store, https://www.ncbfstore.org (“NCBF Store”). When you buy Festival merchandise while ordering Festival tickets, your information will be gathered as detailed above under “Purchasing Festival tickets.” If you buy Festival merchandise at the NCBF Store, you will be redirected from our Website to the Festival Store, operated by Planet Cotton, a third-party merchandiser under contract with us.  Planet Cotton may request your Contact Information and your Payment Information. to understand how to contact Planet Cotton to opt out or to remove your information. You are responsible for the accuracy of the Contact Information and Payment Information that you provide to Planet Cotton. Donating to NCBF

When you donate to us via a Festival auction, you will provide us with your Contact Information then be redirected from our Website to Givesmart, a Payment Processor. Givesmart will see your Contact Information and ask for your Payment Information. Please read Givesmart’s privacy policy at:

You are responsible for the accuracy of the Contact Information that you provide to us and the Payment Information that you provide to Givesmart. Volunteering for the Festival

 When you want to volunteer for the Festival online via:

you will provide us with your Contact Information, your date of birth and your t-shirt size (“Volunteer Information”). You are responsible for the accuracy of the Volunteer Information that you provide to us and you may correct and update your Volunteer Information at any time by contacting us directly.

The information that we or the third parties detailed above gather from you is from plainly-marked areas of our Website or the websites of these entities.

How we use Information

We use:

  • Cookies and the related aggregated statistics internally to provide better service and may provide these statistics to others.
  • Communication Information to send Festival communications and updates to you.
  • The limited Payment Information that we receive to fulfill orders, handle refunds, process donations and thank donors.

We will not otherwise sell, share or trade your Communication, Contact, Payment or Volunteer Information to third parties.

How we store and send Information

 We maintain security procedures and standards for storing and sending Information which we believe are as safe as today’s technology permits. We test these procedures and modify them regularly as new technologies become feasible.

We will:

  • Retain your Communication Information until you notify us or opt out of future communications from us.
  • Not have access to or store your Payment Information.
  • Retain your Contact Information only for processing your purchase of Festival tickets or merchandise, unless you have otherwise you have opted in during your purchase of Festival tickets or merchandise.
  • Retain your Contact Information for processing your donation and for contacting you about future donations.
  • Retain your Volunteer information until you notify us or opt out of our volunteer program.

Changing your preferences

If you do not want to receive solicitations or marketing from others with whom we share information or who process your payments, follow the opt out directions on the applicable website.

 Our Website may contain hyperlinks to other websites, content or resources (collectively, “Other Sites”). Other Sites may gather information about you when you view them. We cannot control their collection of information and suggest that you review each Other Site’s privacy policies before providing them with your personal information.

Children

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, please do not provide us with any personal information. If we learn that we have inadvertently obtained personally identifiable information from a minor under the age of 13, we will delete that information as soon as possible.
